Leah smiled as he led her into the forest. She asked excitedly “Where are you taking me, Dragon? To your cave?” She smiled at her little childish joke, before taking a deep breath of the clean air and looking up at him expectedly for an answer. She hoped it was a quiet place where they could share some time together, in solitude. She was scared of almost everyone except him, he was agreeable, funny, and approachable.
Zoe had started crying softly, releasing his hand at his words but curling as close as she could get around him.
Elliot realized who really needed him now. His sister was gone, most likely watching from above, but Zoe needed him. He stroked her hair softly, whispering “I’m sorry my princess. I won’t leave you. I’m so sorry.”
Zoe looked up at him again and kissed his chin "I'm sorry, she didn't deserve an end like that. Maybe, maybe after this job we can find the one really responsible and make them pay?"
Elliot looked down at her. She soothed him like no one else did, it wasn’t incredible. He whispered “Thank you, and maybe so. I would love to do that with my vixen.” He added thankfully “You’re the best, Zoe.”
Zoe wiped her eyes and smiled up at him then nodded "We can decide for certain later. Even if we have to ask for permission after this job."
Elliot nodded, kissing her softly on her forehead, holding her close still.
Zoe was content to stay close to him, even if it got them in trouble with Asa. Right now, she wanted to cuddle with him and hope it made him feel better about losing his sister.
