Hi all,
At what age are Chinese geese fully grown? Our current trio are 9 weeks old as of tomorrow and they look to be about ⅔ of their adult size already.

Also, when should they be developing their knobs? They all have a slight swelling at the tops of their bills but no clear knob growth yet.
Thanks!

I don't know much about geese but figured I'd send a reply since you haven't gotten anything yet. These are my first two and so far they are my favorite type of birds to raise! I'm aware the sassiness may come later but I love the personalities.

I have two that are only about 4-5 weeks old right now. As far as full adult size I'm not sure, but I think I read that the knobs are fully developed by 2 years?? Seems like they are slow growers. I've already noticed a difference in brooding compared to ducks. Holy moly are they much easier and cleaner to keep than the three, 3 week old Ancona ducklings that I have!

We're trying to socialize them as much as possible so they hopefully don't attack the two Chihuahuas that I have! The Lab X I'm not so worried about. . .

Oh my goodness, NJWMaine, that is the cutest picture! Thanks for your reply.

I'm with you: our geese are much less messy than our ducks, and their intelligence and personalities are really delightful. So easy to train and they love to visit with us and tell us about their day:)

Our geese will be 12 weeks old this coming week, and they're just now developing a swelling where their knobs are beginning to come in. So I guess they answered my question themselves!
