Chinese Quail? Does anyone have any?

I don't have any, but they are harder to find than Cortunix quail or Bobwhite quail. Try starting with one of these breeds if you could. Chinese quail are just hard to find, (For me anyway).

I just love these Button Quail. They are adorable! What a cool project they would be to raise! If only I could get my mittens on a few :p

Does anyone know what they are used for other than just being adorable? lol

They are pretty much just used for being adorable

. They should be kept inside since they don't handle cold well, they are pretty much pets/eye candy lol. Though some people do have them in the bottoms of aviaries to clean up after birds like doves/pigeons or parrots.

I have coturnix and I would love to have some buttons!!! I think my cots are cute, and buttons are like mini cots!!!

I have them as pets. I keep mine in a single pair in the living room in an enclosure next to my budgies cage. The budgies calls just like the buttons do! its too cute. Anyway we have a page over on facebook and I can see if anyone is in your area or you are welcome to come on over and take a look. it is just Button Quail and is a closed group so you have to ask to join. anyway they are great little pets but not god for much else, not for meat but the eggs are good to eat if you like to pop bites of egg! it takes 7 to equal one chicken egg of medium size! I just boil mine and fed them back to the birds, shell and all.

oh and I wanted to add you will find more information if you look for the proper name of Chinese Blue Breasted Quail.

I'm not on FB but check and see if anyone is near and let me know!

Do any of you breed them and sell the eggs/birds?

I will check to see if anyone is in your area. There are several that sell eggs and a few that do birds although they will not or try not to ship adults.

The person I had in mind is selling on ebay but he doesn't have buttons right now as they are just starting to lay again after the season changed. good luck.
