Chinese vs Embden...***Updated W/ Pics***

How can I tell the difference between a white Chinese and a white Embden gosling?

What kind of goose do you think this is?
Maybe it's neither of the above... ideas?

White chinese are TINY. Also, they are pure yellow. I'm pretty sure that embdens generally have some darker grey-ish coloring on their back/head.

Embdens are pure white as well. Are you asking about goslings or geese? Chinese geese will get a knob on the top of their bills, embdens don't have this. Embdens have blue eyes, I don't think chinese have this. Embdens are probably twice as big as chinese as adults

Mine didn't, if it weren't for the 'square' looking bill, I would have thought it was a pekin duck.

Chinese do have blue eyes too.

JessHall, your goose looks spot-on like bigger versions of my two-week-olds, but it may look like an embden too. How old is it?

Edit: Actually, it might look more embden-ee with the beak. Hmmm..

Ok, so I wasn't very clear... Here's the thing, I really have no clue what it is.

-We got it at Coopers hardware in Sylmar, Ca... the last one and the lady at the counter didn't really know a goose from a pig.

-I immediately posted these pics and asked everyone's opinion:

The general consensus was Embden.

-I started having my doubts, finally I sucked it up and called Coopers and asked to talk to someone who knows what they carried this season. The lady said she'd have to see it. She asked what color, I said will be white, and she said Toulouse!!! Well it didn't take me long to realize that that was not correct at all! I should call her back and say, hey, did we misunderstand each other?

-I do remember my husband buying our Pekins from there and when he pointed to the one he liked the guy said no that's an African. I think DH said that one was white and brown though.

- I saw pics of a Chinese Gosling the other day and it looked similar.

So... that's why I asked Chinese or Embden. This is getting a bit frustrating!
