I have some eggs under two brooders and one egg the chick has been chirping for 24 hours now. Do I help or not?!

Did it pip and how long ago?

I am pretty sure it pipped 24 hours ago. Hard to tell no crack on the shell for sure

you have eggs in a hatcher or hen?

https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/step-by-step-guide-to-assisted-hatching here is an assist article, make sure you read it in full before you begin an assist, and understand the stages of hatch.

Good Luck

let us know how it goes?

Ok Thanks for the article. I have pretty much done the right thing then. I guess I remembered enough from working in an ostrich hatchery when I was a Kid!! The chick had pipped through the membrane inside but has been struggling to break the shell. I tapped a hole and found the beak instantly. I have now put the egg back under the hen. I did have two brooders in there and the other day I found an egg broken open a bloody membrane and no chick. I wasn't sure if it was my rooster or another hen in the pen. SO I put a cage over both brooders. However just after putting the tapped egg back one of the brooders started attacking the egg. I have pulled her out and left just my bantam in with it as she seems to not even want to get off the eggs to eat or drink so I am thinking mega dedicated mama!

Will keep you updated and thanks for the help :0)

Ostrich farm! how COOL IS THAT!!! You know its funny I just moved my broody and her four eggs today! I was afraid of everyone else, good thing I did! she didn't seem to mind, I swear she didn't move, stiff as a board but warm as the sunshine! lol Good Luck, please come back with pics!!
