Gurrr I hate these things. There all around my coop and shed.
There getting into my feed bags and they already ate my 15lb bag of scratch. What can I do to get rid of them? What can I use to trap/kill them. I'm about to get my shotgun!!! Gurrr:/

Not sure how to get rid of those critters, but you could stop the chipmunks from eating anything intended for the girls if you store all foods and grains inside a galvanized metal trash can with a lid, and where the handle slides up over the top. They come in all sizes from 2 gallons on up and you can buy them everywhere. Also, feed your birds inside their coop where the chipmunks might get eaten by a big feathered friend, and the food is locked up with the birds at night. Only give the girls food in their run when you are there to see them eat it all.

I'd suggest snares. They are a good and effective method for getting rid of small rodents like squirrels and chipmunks.

This idea actually comes from a survival website, aka capturing chipmunks for food. I've done this before on a survivor camping trip and it works, no joke. Just follow the directions off this page.

Squirrel Snare

I'd suggest putting a ramp leading up to your chicken feed. Being lazy, they will use it. Put about 3 - 4 snares on each one, and you'll catch a surprising amount of chipmunks if you do it correctly.

If you're about being "humane", maybe buy some kind of live trap and release them somewhere else. However, that would make them someone else's problem, so you are better off just killing them.

I use these in and around my open game bird feeding stations and in my Edwards pen..

Takes out the feed diggers and the critters that like to poo right in the feeders. works well for chipers and mice and rats if you got them..they really work well for the price

Man here I am the only one on the other side of the fence, the chickens love their chippy friend. We only have 1 hanging around. He has been here for 2 years, he lives under my deck and eats scratch grains i put out for our birds and wild birds. He screams at ya when you don't share grilled food with him, and he stalks me when i am out in the yard, no matter where I am he is right around the corner talking to me. He never gets into the garage where the feed is even tho the door is open on a daily basis (one of the coops is in the garage) I suppose if I had tons of them wrecking havoc then I would have no choice but to dispatch them. For now chippy is safe
