Hi all.
When I removed this egg for candling tonight, it felt a little stuck to the egg turner. I dripped some water in that area to loosen it, but when it gave way it left this chipped area on the shell. The egg membrane appears intact. No liquids or anything leaving the egg. The embryo seems to be developing just fine.

Can I put this egg back into the incubator as is?
If not, can I patch it in some way and put back into the incubator?

Thanks!
Tammy

Patch it or it will die/infect the other eggs. Either use nail polish or melted wax. Both work great and I've had good success. Do it asap or bacteria will start penetrating the membrane.

Thank you! I read your comments after I was already in bed last night and tried to go to sleep and fix it up in the AM, but I kept worrying about that egg, so after about 15 minutes I got up and found some clear nail polish and put a couple of coats over it.
