The only reason I am asking is because my 6 year old wants to know. I have 2 A&M quail, both 15 days old, with one being 12 hours older and bigger than the other. The bigger one chirps more often than the other. If we take the small one out of the brooder, the bigger one will start to chirp like we are pulling its feathers out or something. If we take the big out out, it will chirp constantly until it is comfortable with it's surroundings. The little one will chirp a few times alone in the brooder box, but just for a short period of time compared to the bigger one.
I know that males are more vocal than females; can my older more vocal one be a male?
