Underneath is the key word here, it means comfort.
The only way ive ever stopped that chirp is to either keep the chick with me or put my hand on top so it could snuggle under.

That’s adorable! I knew she would find comfort under her! It’s the funniest thing since popcorn is so tiny and Smokey just sticks her head under her.
