That's so much fun! I can't wait because when my silkies start laying again I'm planning a HUGE batch (for me) of almost 30 eggs! You can post your updates as well if you like on here.

That will be fun! I just candled my bunch, and aside from one egg with a very thick, hard to see through shell, it appears ive got a 100% fertility rate, assuming the thick shelled egg is fertile as well! Mister GG sure is doing his job! I'll be thrilled if I end up with all of them hatching, God would that ever be incredible! Highly unlikely... but amazing. A guy can dream, I guess! :)
I plan to fund a second incubator (to hatch and sell more chicks, ha!) and a new coop by selling chicks during the spring at $3 a pop, to be competitive with the feed stores. New coop will be for my dominique breeding project i have planned. May also be building a massive 10ft x 6ft coop with a 10ft run here come springtime! Can't wait for all those delicious eggs and for my two younger girls to start laying!

Wow! I hope I have 100% fertility. I have a VERY dark egg that I don't know if I'll ever be able to see anything in. I'm planning on doing a hatch of over 30 silkies when my girls start laying again.

Those are some beautiful eggs! You'll have a heck of a flock if the hatch goes well! Best of luck to you and your soon-to-be little ones!

Can't wait to grow my flock to be able to both sell eggs AND sell chicks. Right now I'm selling eggs to neighbors for just $2, or for trade sometimes. My neighbor to the left gets trade eggs whenever he wants due to being overly generous. Last time I brought him eggs, he dropped off a box of apples and twenty oranges in thanks. That man will get free eggs for life if he plans to do that! Haha
Getting nearly a half dozen eggs a day has its perks, it seems. :)
What are your plans for your flock?

Right now I am a silkie breeder but I do Olive eggers, black copper and blue marans, along with barnyard mixes on the side.
