From what I am reading is females will turn choclate where males will carry the gene but not always but choclate on the outside however as chicks they are black.

She must've been from a single gene choc mom X single gene choc dad ( so he was black)
Which is why she's black.

They're saying chicks hatch looking blackish and it's hard to tell between black and chocolate.
I think she was a mistake, and they messed up her color.

I do believe so. Her feathers would be growing in chocolate if she was chocolate.
