Chocolate Birds in the US?

How exactly do you work on them. Are people working with imported birds? I mean its kind of like Lavender isnt it. You can have a project to make the color in some breed but you need some birds that already have it...dont you?

Porter's has chocolate turkeys. Well I guess I should say they have chocolate colored turkeys, I don't know quite how an actual chocolate turkey would taste LOL.

The Choc gene in chickens isnt very old.

I believe there are choc seramas. Chocolate polish and OEG are dun-based. Not sure about the wyandottes--are they choc or dun based?

I figured that was what you meant, but wasn't sure that all those answering knew.

A few years back I bought a chocolate hen for the kids' Easter basket. She was almost lifesize

She even came with a chocolate nest.
