This little guy is super duper small and was the last of his color at TSC so I wasn't able to compare him to his mates. Is he just runty? Can anyone help with ID? His feet are solid dark brown and he has a soft raspy voice, if that helps.

I don’t know if I’ve ever seen Call ducks at TSC. They’re a rarer, more expensive breed. I’d imagine a runt is more likely, maybe hatched out of a smaller egg?

I know it's been a bit, but it's still itty bitty and the others are getting ahead. Also, it has zero of the olive tones my last khakis had, so I'm leaning towards it being a chocolate variety of whichever breed. Sure, it's growing at the same rate they are, but when should I expect it to catch up if it is just a runt?

I’ve read through some other posts, and it seems like runts tend to take a few extra weeks to catch up. It’s also possible they won’t quite catch up and will remain smaller.

The best you can do is give them some extra love and make sure they have all the food, water, and heat they could need. In time, hopefully they’ll catch up, and if not, it’s not your fault.
