Actually my brother has a Red Chantecler from Ideal Poultry that is very similar in color to the pictures at the front of this thread. It also had the lacing on it. I think they (Ideal) created it bt crossing partridge and buff together.

As with all good things, it takes time.

We're working on it along with several other projects, is all I can really share right now. Thanks for checking in.

we hatched this little guy out about 3-4 weeks ago we think it is a buff cross but is getting a cool baring on it's feathers but is keeping a good brown color chest is also getting like a gold feathering.we just hatched out a few more that look like a buff black mix real nice brown color.i love how yours has the blue orp lacing in a brown color very cool.cant wait to see more pics

Very cute. It looks similar to the brown base I am seeing in some of my mille fleur project birds.

Jody, at looking at the new posting here I went back to your original pics. So wonderful to see those gorgeous browns with the beautiful lacings. It was nice to see again. ;-)

I'm dying to see some that are dun colored. I have chocolates, the true recessive/sex linked chocolate, Orpington crosses and my Araucana project chocolate chicks. Duns are a little different to work with and don't breed true but there are some really "fine" colors that can be made with dun.

Jimmythechicken, that looks like the brown/red pullets I've hatched
