Chocolate Mottled Satin Silkie Breeding

[Chocolate Silkie Queen]

I have a sweet Chocolate Mottled Satin Silkie rooster that has bred a lot of my females mainly my cinnamon queens. These are old pictures so ignore how bad my cinnamon queen looks we basically rescued her from being wayyyyyy overcrowded! I don’t have pictures of all the ladies as I’ve deleted most of my pictures and need to get new ones. Anyways I do have lots of questions on how chocolate works while I wait for the chicks to finish cooking!

First question-
Would the chocolate make the red in the cinnamon queens darker? The hen pictured is my lightest Cinnamon Queen I do have one that’s the Rhode Island Red color and I’m wanting it to be that/possibly darker if possible.

Second question-
I do have buff silkie hens. What would the chocolate do with a buff breeding?

Third question-
Would the chocolate bred to a black hen produce chocolate females and black males?

Forth question-
Chocolate is a sex link gene is it the case if bred to any color or just black?

Fifth question-
I do have Partridge hens what would I expect if they’re crossed to a chocolate rooster?

Sixth question-
Chocolate rooster bred to a BBR Phoenix hen produce BBR chicks or how would the chocolate work with that cross?

Not sure if this one is a buff or not she looks more partridge compared to my other buff hen and looks more buff compared to my partridge hen. Hate her comb but she’s my only one with a very blue face that I’m hoping her chicks will inherit!

These are two of my BBR Phoenix hens.Sorry about the horrible picture it’s a screenshot off of a video!

The goal is to put more Mottled in my flock which I know these chicks won’t show but will be carriers so they’ll be bred back to the dad just curious how the chicks will possibly look!

I wish I knew the answers to your questions! Maybe @Amer or @NatJ or @MysteryChicken can help.

It is my understanding that chocolate is a sex linked version of black (with mauve being the chocolate version of blue and khaki being the chocolate version of splash?) So I would assume that it would act as black when bred to other colored birds. But with a male, breeding him to any non chocolate female, you should get sex linked chocolate females… but I don’t know how that works with other colors like buff. Hopefully someone else will know!

Sex Linked Chocolate is still something I need to learn more about. But I have alittle experience with Dun(Fake Chocolate) as I have the Dun color.

Chocolate is a dilution but it dilutes black, not red. It would either make the red slightly lighter or make no difference whatsoever.

Second question-
I do have buff silkie hens. What would the chocolate do with a buff breeding?
You'd get black males with buff leakage in the front, like a buff that got the back half dipped in black paint.
And same with the females but the black areas would be chocolate.

Would the chocolate bred to a black hen produce chocolate females and black males?
Yes.

Yes
Although dilutions like white can make it less visible it's still there.

Black males with some leakage, chocolate females
