I was on McMurray Hatchery website today (I swear it's a sickness....) and saw that they are selling CHOCOLATE ORPINGTONS. The pictures are chicken porn, I swear.... šŸ˜‚ They were SO PRETTY! Even though my husband would probably kill me for ordering more chickens, I HAD to have some.... Only to discover they are sold out. Anyone else have chocolate Orpingtons? Please post pictures.... I'd love to see what a Roo looks like.

Agree, gorgeous chickens! I saw them on McMurray as well. I believe they have very limited supply because they are new and building up the breeding flock. If you check regularly on their website, sometimes previously sold out birds will suddenly be available (usually because someone cancelled their order). You can also look for breeders that have them. Papa's Poultry in California has them along with several other gorgeous orpington colors. šŸ˜Š

Sometime around the beginning of the coronapocalypse someone on here posted a pic of one she rescued and I was like "WANT". She was so gorgeous! Every time I wander over to MPC just to stare and dream of what to get next I look at them. They are so pretty and my coop is sooooo full right now, so not yet šŸ˜‚. I also want a red Orpington. I like to look at the pics at Omega hills farm and just soak in the red orpington glory there. So many chickens, so little space...

Buff Orpingtons were the first chicks that I purchased when I decided to get back into chickens about 3 years ago. I bought them on a whim. They are so friendly and personable and became much-loved pets. They would literally fly up into your lap (and your shoulder, and your head....lol) and wanted to be pet. I only have 2 of my original 6 that are still alive....

This past August, I purchased some Black Australorp chicks which I've been told are essentially black Orpingtons that orginated from Australia.

I've had my eye on Lavender Orpingtons but have so far resisted buying some. However, I absolutely fell in love with the chocolate Orpingtons when I saw them. So lovely....

Hi everyone
Hereā€™s our Fran, a Chocolate Orpington!

We got her from our friend who has about 20. She was injured with a funny walk, probably from a rooster trying it on too early! She sat down a lot, but is fine now.

pics are from a couple of ages. Sheā€™s even bigger now with larger fluffy tail feathers, and has just started laying!!

Very beautiful! But I have to apologise as weā€™re in the UK so non are available. :(

Fran is gorgeous!šŸ„°
Congratulations on the eggs!šŸ˜Š

I've never ordered from Mount Healthy but I've seen chocolate, red, and lavender on their site. Cackle has black laced silver now, as well as jubilee and lavender. Meyer's has bbs, lavender, & jubilee.
They are beautiful to me even the hatchery quality orpingtons. If anyone orders them, post lots of pictures!
