I was sold these eggs as chocolate orpingtons, but not sure if they are. Two hens are 'chocolate' in colour so would match the bill. One hen is black but has some 'oil spil' blue colourings in her feathers. The cockeral is also brown, but with some redish feathers. What do we think?

Tha first picture the hen towards the bottom looks Chocolate, the 2nd picture the hen looks Chocolate, the 3rd picture the hen looks Chocolate and the last picture the top corner hen looks chocolate. The Rooster seems to have Chocolate but I don't know about the red on him in Orpingtons??????

Chocolate orps are solid dark brown. I think most, if not all of them are mixes. Certainly the black and the one with the red splash, and I'm guessing that the rest are mixes too.

I guess the two main questions are the black one with blueish feathers, could it be a blue orpington rather than a chocolate? And 2) the cockerels colours - if they are male chocolate.

But maybe they are mixes like suggested?

theya re all defo mixed

orpingtons main trait is the fluffy soft feathering around the feet and vent area
