Chocolate Orps have landed in the States!

Like I said, I sold her one dozen Black Orp eggs, and one dozen Birchen Marans eggs last week. I talked to her on the phone twice. Traded a few emails to confirm when she could expect my shipment. She told me 120 birds are at JFK, in quarrentine and soon will be okay to be released. These were her words. What the paperwork said on any website was not where I got my info. I recieved a PAYPAL for $100 from her husband's account for the eggs I shipped. I shipped to the address on that account and she should have recieved the eggs I shipped last week on Thursday. What she says on her website is not my business. My personal opinions are based how people treat me on the phone or in person. I have no bad thoughts of this lady. I wish her the best with what she has going on. And I for sure am not in any line to get one egg or bird/birds. I have plenty going on here.

I did look at the permits, and it says "proposed ship date" and "proposed arrival dates" I don't see where it says the birds actually arrived. I'm not saying the birds aren't here, but anybody can get a permit - does not mean the man in England actually ships them.

There are just so many unanswered questions, but I guess it will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

wow, how did I miss this thread? Anyone see the two auctions up on ebay? $180 an egg holly cow. I thought we only had bantam chocs in the states. Didn't realize that the lf had been imported.

I am very much reading inbetween the lines. I do not think she would pay me for my Black Orp eggs just to clean up only her Lavs. I believe she is aware how the look of these Minh Chocs do need a bit of work and I am the only one who would part with any fertile eggs. Again, this is me reading inbetween the lines. So, many have decent enough Lav Orps nowadays and I seriously doubt she would want to get Black Orp eggs from me to just worry about her Lavs and making them look better. There is more to this then just fixing some Lavs. My Birchen Marans is another story. Many can use them as well in making Birchens in other breeds like Orps too. I am not too worried about it. I sorta like the competition. IF I did go and get some Minh birds, I think I could make all these varieties with either Cochins or Wyandottes and have just as much work. I do not see how much an advantage she is gaining use these birds.

If the birds are here, they are in quarantine. How can you sell eggs from them already?????? If they are going to ship at a later date, how do they know they will be laying after being shipped from the quarantine facility to her facility?

Clear at the end of her long drawn out listing it says something about not until April 15th.

By then the time will have run out on making a paypal claim if you don't get any eggs.

Exactly.

It's a very big gamble listing those auctions prematurely. IMO.
