ok so a few people know and others dont but i was offered some chocolate x black orp eggs for free from a friend of a friend after much much much consideration i decided to give it a go i also was talking to my friend Highlander on here and when she said she would like to give it a go too hatch a plan of the 9 eggs i have been given taken from 2 brown hens and a Black split Roo i am sending highlander 6 and keeping 3 for myself so earlyer today i went with my friend Kara and piked up the eggs sadly i couldnt get pictures of the hens and cock as i forgot my camera DOH! but i did get 6 beautiful eggs (im having mine a little later as i have a bator full so i carried them like they where Glass home even wrapping them in cotton wool so they wouldnt get bumped and jostled and when i got them home i had the horrid job od deciding how best to pack them.
I must say i have never packed eggs in my life and then decided it was time to panic i want them to all get there in one peice as scotland is quite a journey so i wrapped them best i could in what i had and then when i took it to the post office (a local everything you can think of country type jobbie) the lady who served me laughted saying am i sure i wrapped them well enought.

This is how i wrapped them

the presious eggs

first i wrapped them in cotton wool, taped them down so they dont move too much and put them in a polybox

next i taped up the polybox nice and tight

then i wrapped it in smal bubble wrap for if it gets knocked about a bit yo know what post people are like

and then i wrapped it in lare bubble wrap (i know what my postmans like drops everything) so incase they are dropped they may live to tell the tail

and at the post office as i want them to be there by tomorrow they where bagged up in a fragile next day bag and i made sure she carefully put them next to the sack to be picked up,
did i pack them ok? did i go a bit too far? i for one have had broken eggs on delivery i just want them in the best shape possible for Highlander to hatch so hopefully she will keep us all updated on this thread so we now how it goes and

Great job, Nat. Highlander will be quite happy! Sure wish we could swap eggs across the pond, but the pesky regulations get in the way!

Good luck on your hatching, too!

Awesome packing job, Fairybee! It is so nice of you to share those with Highlander, I'm sure she will be thrilled!
