Received an order of eggs from Ebay seller, poorly packaged and several broken eggs

Wow the amount of products that we can get here pales in comparison to the rest of the world so it surprises me that you don't have something like these for breeders to ship eggs in like we do:

You can get foam egg shippers on Amazon but all of the eggs I've received thus far came in regular egg cartons with each egg individually wrapped in bubble wrap. This seems have been enough for the eggs to get to me unscathed. This was just negligence on the seller's part. They just set the eggs in cartons then wrapped the whole carton in bubble wrap as you see in my prior photos. There was nothing to prevent the eggs from smashing into others.

Rinsed all the eggs in cool water then sprayed with hydrogen peroxide. Of 15 shipped, 11 were not smashed but I think three more (at least) are cracked. Was a pain in the bottom, several had shredded newspaper stuck to them.

True that packaging leaves a lot to be desired, but the eggspresssafe have become that popular here for being a no brainer that breeders advertise that they use them and buyers avoid sellers that don't say that they use them. I think that the breeders prefer them as well due to being less work for them to just drop the eggs into cartons and the buyer paying the extra for the carton.

When I bought some eggs, they came packed like this. Very effective. Leave a bad review. So sorry, and hope you didn't pay them too much. <3

I've ordered eggs off eBay in years past, and this year went wild and ordered several from quality breeders and one I found on eBay. All of them came individually wrapped in the tiny bubble, bubble wrap.

I used to do it that way, until someone shipped me eggs in hot water pipe insulators. I had hubby go get me a few and that's all I use now. Slicker than a whistle and each egg is extremely protected. I use up all that bubble wrap I bought by lining all sides of the box with several layers and stick some inbetween the eggs if there's spaces, so they can't move. I've only shipped off maybe 9-10 dozen over the years, but never once did anyone ever mention a broken egg.

This seller took no care to find out how to ship eggs before she did that. I've had a couple send them in egg cartons but they were each individually wrapped so they couldn't jiggle together and break.

Rinsing those eggs isn't a problem. I've soaked mine in an anti-bacterial solution for 60 seconds, then rinsed, air dried, and put in egg cartons to sit for 24 hrs.

The breeder I got my BBS Silvers from last year used this same foam. Very well packaged, fragile and hatching eggs was plastered all over the box. IIRC, over 1200 miles shipped in 2 days.

I've ordered more coming in a couple months.
