So the title explains things nicely but a few days ago I got three emu hatching eggs from someone on eBay, today my second egg went bad of the three meaning I have just one left, I was going to clean this egg out and upon opening I realized there was a fully formed emu chick inside! It was deceased of course but was close to hatching.. this egg could not have formed this chick in my hands as I’ve only been incubating for 6 days, meaning that this egg was mailed to me with or without a live chick inside it and definitely deceased by the time it got to me.
I am upset, disgusted and overall plagued by guilt because this poor animal went through this, I contacted the seller and have so far heard nothing back, I went to eBay fourms asking a mentor for help, and now here uncertain on what to do because it was clear an egg was sent with a “resident” inside it already and I paid for an egg that was unincubated not to mention my other bad egg went rotten in just three days of incubation, it was seeping white stuff which I found is a substance inside the egg.
Again this is just so wrong.. I am not gonna prove my story either with a photo all I have is my words.. it’s too disgusting to even think about going back to.

Take a deep breath.
Sometimes eggs get mixed up, it could be someone grabbed eggs from the wrong nest, unfortunately, accidents happen.
As emu eggs are impossible to candle, they had no way of knowing that there was a chick there.
The seller should make it right but the egg was likely dead before shipping.

See that’s what I’m clinging to that it was an oops from perhaps a male sitting on an egg, but others I’ve talked to have said otherwise that there was no easy way to mistake something as this..
I really hope the seller gets back to me and makes things right otherwise I will be calling eBay to see if they can refund me as again it was so sickening :hit

Ebay likely won't do anything because they have a policy in hatching eggs but you can give it a shot.
