One of my Easter Eggers choked this morning.
She's done this once before, as I was watching her eat, suddenly she'll start coughing and wheezing with every breath, gaping and sneezing regularly.
Before it just went away after a few hours, but it's lasted all day this time.
I'm worried about her, she was still having trouble breathing when I locked the coop tonight.
She ate and drank all through the day, her crop was full when she went to roost.
I don't want to handle this hen very much, for the last year she has had respiratory problems related to a reproductive issue (she is almost five years old and hasn't laid and egg in three years now).
I've been expecting to lose this hen for a long time now, since last spring, it'll be a year since she got sick in February.
I don't think I can do anything for her now, but I'm going to add electrolytes to the water and leave her with the flock.

Does she have access to food all of her waking hours? She may just getting feed or grain into her throat and getting choked. In the morning if she is still stridorous, look inside her thost with a light. A spare pair of hands might be best to hold her. But if she freaks out, tonight while she is on the roost might be a better time. I have had a couple who ate too fast and had stridor for a few hours. It is scary to hear, kind of like a little kid with croup.
