My dad brought his dog to visit and in the blink of an eye she was through the electric fence and wiggled my chicken tractor just right so that the door opened and she got in. I thought the three 3-4 month golden Comets that live there were fine- I let them go on and free range the rest of the day (dog stayed on leash!). However, later in the day I noticed one limping so I caught her and it looks like she got bitten on the leg. Not a gash, and didn't really look like deep punctures, but really it is kinda hard to tell on chicken legs. I put some medicine on the wounds and turned her back out with her buddies. Observing her, it seems like she favors the leg and doesn't stand on it. When she first starts to walk, she hops on one foot a few steps, then starts limping- the farther she goes, the better the limp gets. It makes me think a tendon or muscle got bruised- like once it gets stretched out and warmed up it feels better. So far, it doesn't seem swollen or hot. The bottom of her foot is fine- the only marks I can find are a few small, and seemingly shallow punctures. Any advice?
Thanks!
