Thanks, good advice....If the only function of the coop is a place to roost then you just need enough roosting space for your birds. That is the way mine ended up, I feed, water and the nest box is in the covered enclosed with welded wire run so my coop is just a place to roost. Mine is 4' x 5' with 11' of roosts and I've seen 7 full size hens on one 4' roost and sometimes they just roost all over. So I'd have at least 24' of roosts far enough apart so they can't poop and peck on the neighbor hen across the way.
Make it a walk in coop (roost box) with good ventilation and good overhangs!
