Choose 3 to Breed and Why

Hi All,

Thought it might be fun to hear which three breeds people would pick if they had to choose three to breed and why they would choose them.

For me it would be the Coucou de Malines for their meat, Bresse, also for their meat but for eggs too and finally the Chantecler for their eggs, cold-hardiness and historic significance.

A photo of a Malines cockerel I used to have - still have a couple!

Coronation Sussex, English Standard
Blue-Laced Red Wyandotte!
All are rare breeds and will do well in cold weather; all are dual purpose for eggs and meat, and these breeds are docile and make wonderful pets! Show quality lines are goals!:jumpy:jumpy:jumpy

All exceptionally good-looking breeds with utility to boot - great choices!
 
I would love to breed cream legbars to SOP and for bluer eggs. they are wonderful looking birds who lay almost every day. it would be fun to see the change in them throughout the generations.
 
Mine are Russian Orloff, Chocolate Orpington, and Amerecauna. They are my best layers and roosters. And they all get along when I mix flock in winter... (RIP Vladimir, by good ol boy!)

It's interesting to hear that Russian Orloffs are such good layers; I didn't think that they would be. How many eggs would a pullet average per week once she is laying steadily?
