Songster
I have 3 cockerals. I will keep one or 2, but I know someone who may take one now.
2x 15 week rose comb brown leghorn
1x 13 week Welsummer
The welsummer still acts unsure of himself, rarely ever crowes, and overall acts younger than his age. He seems timid and barely show any signs of trying to mate.
I'll probably get rid of one of the leghorns now. One of them seems to have a better standing with the ladies. He made friends with a Welsummer hen who lets him try to mate, but he sucks at it. He chases the young pullets less. He dislikes being picked up the most. He picks a spot on the roost and pecks the ones who push him around.
The other lehhorn hasn't gotten anywhere with the ladies best I can tell. He still tries to grab the littles ones by the neck, but they are fast and almost always sense his intentions and go somewhere else. He isn't brave enough yet to try for a laying age hen. He jostles with the ladies for a place to sleep and wedges himself in the middle of them on the roost.
I haven't noticed anything else that sets the 2 apart yet. They look virtually identical. This one got a cut on his waddle that scarred and left an indention.
