I doesn't matter how far away or close you put the pile. The key is to keep it up off the ground and to keep the moisture source away from the firewood. Another thing you need to consider is your flower beds. Do you have mulch in your beds? That is another great source for termites......just watch for tunneling on your foundation walls.
