last night was the girls first night in their new digs. We checked on them for a few hours. they settled in and seemed to approve.

the first girl leaving their coop. of course it was the BR

the back of the coop with their drop down vent window. All windows and doors are insulated, caulked and the nest box has weather stripping. Did I mention my husband has issues with over doing stuff like this?

front of coop painted and trimmed. We chose a nice neutral color that will be close to the color of the house when we stucco

my handsome hubby and #1 Coop builder

we used water proof shower stall sheets to cover most of the inside area. I hope this will make it easier to keep clean. we used enough caulk on any surface that might allow moisture to seep in. The nest boxes are also lined and I used white oil base enamel for any unprotected surface. I hate oil base, but you can't beat it once you spend hours cleaning up

nest boxes

roost and poop board with PDZ The feeder and water will sit under to save room and also protect them from falling "objects" The feeder now hangs from a hook on the underside of the roost. perfect to keep the pine chips out of the feeder. We built a box for the water but might have to make it taller. always adjustments.
