What breeds are you hatching?
Hopefully

Barnyard mix. Most of my flock was recently killed by the family dog when they were in a unstable temporary coop right after moving. So these will be their chicks. I'm hoping for some OE's because I had a Maran roo and a SBEL pullet, then I also I have a OE roo. So who knows..

This is my first hatch and last for awhile.

Oh no sorry about your flock :(

Hopefully you will get a good hatch. Mutts are so pretty. I have an OE, I love her. They are great birds. Good luck :)

It happens. So I've been trying not to be too upset about it.

They are! I spend a good amount of time drooling over mutts that others have.

Thank you. Best of luck to you as well!

Welcome! I'm excited to hear about your hatch! I wish mine were due before Christmas! What kind of incubator do you have?

I probably will. I'll turn maybe twice a day instead of 3-4 times.

Pic through the bator window of the eggs due Sunday. I like the pinkish brown colored shells :) The one egg has had a crack (no leakage) since the beginning, it's still developing do I hope it makes it :fl.

I also have one due 12-25 with a crack as well, I will need to keep and eye on it, don't want it going bad.

But this stagger hatch will indeed be interesting :)

I can't wait to see how it all turns out!!!

I have a used Farm Innovators. I've heard a lot of bad about them, but I must be doing alright, when I candled out of curiosity tonight there was veining

And I had a SBEL and I only had 4 newer eggs from her and all of them have veining.

When are yours due? I probably read when all ready but I can't remember.

Just found this thread. We have 5 BBR banties incubating and hatch date is 12-25-14! USPS took thier sweet time delivering so we are bummed but still hopeful. We have had 100% success in the past with our own duck eggs so we are a little spoiled at hatching but fully understand our odds this go around.

Plan on candeling Friday, wish us luck!!

And cheers to all other Christmas eggs out there!

I'm not able to quote but hello and welcome Happy Dad!

Good luck with your hatch :) I'll probably candle Friday as well :junpy

Thanks! And best of luck with yours also!

I'm now thinking of candling on Wednesday. We have all five in a R-COM mini so I am manually turning two and rotating them 3-5 times a day. I really don't like handling them that much but I am wearing nitrile gloves every time I touch them. So if there are any that are not developing I'd like to find out sooner rather than later.

But if all five are good to go I'll gladly keep donning the gloves and continue with the turn assist!

We recently lost our BBR rooster so we are hoping for a new BBR Roo. He was such a sweetheart. He would come running when we would pull up in the drive way and would beg to be held. Then he would fall asleep in our arms as we rubbed his neck. RIP Hermie.

Hermie sleeping on my wife in the garage.

The new babies!
