2. Real tree or Artificial? Artificial - one in every room - total of 8-10. A white one with purple ornaments in my bedroom, small lavender trees in the girl's rooms and the traditional tree (plus others) in the living room.

That's funny! Last year while looking around for a few presents for my DH, I spied a bottle of special BBQ sauce.

He loved it, but laughed a lot when he opened it. I said 'hey, it was on sale!'... LOL

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? I havent received any really "bad" christmas gifts, but I got a prank gift from my daughter and son in law last year, fake dog poop. I plan on returning the favor this year.

13. When do you start shopping? I do a little shopping all year but usually really start in the fall. I am WAY behind.

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? often bare, sometimes be-ribboned, every once in a while all-out bu-koo wrapping.

2. Real tree or Artificial? oh very real ~ My husband calls it the ~expensive be-jeweled sacraficial tree offering~ lol, ( he hates paying for something that's already dead when you buy it, but I have to have that fresh pine scent, & besides which, he always gets to torch it later on.)


3. When do you put up the tree? Well, whenever I get to it. We aren't hard & fast Thanksgiving day types, but I like to look at it for a while, & more importantly, to smell it!

4. When do you take the tree down? hehe ~ refer to question 1 ~ hubby lets it dry to a crisp, and then torches the thing out in the yard ~ ( we all think he's a closet pyro,, I dunno..;-D)

5. Do you like eggnog? YUP! (the non-alcoholic kind) Straight from the carton, with a nice peppering of freshly grated nutmeg! Although, being lactose intolernat, I only get sips here & there.

6. Favorite gift received as a child? Hard to say ~ I tend to recall the events surrounding the gifts, rather than the actual gifts ~ although one yr my mom gave me a book of paper dolls that just made my day!


7. Hardest person to buy for? My husband ~ he likes to be in on any tool-gifting, lol, so it's hard to surprise him with much.

8. Easiest person to buy for? Probably also my husband, anything he gets, he will profess to like, & better yet, to just give him the $$ & not spend a cent. We tend to just give homemade gifts at our house.

9. Do you have a nativity scene? Yes, several ~ hubby built me a lovely creche to put them into.


10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Well, depends, I have gone through crafting them myself to picture cards, to vintage, to forgetting/ Feb mailings a few years in a row ( that will cut down on your returns, lol), & back to making them, sending a picture, vintage..........

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? hmm...I think when someone takes the time to actually give a gift, that means something, whether the item is nice, or needed, or lovely, or not. So I just like them all.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? The Santa Clause, I & II

13. When do you start shopping? I try to look for things whenever I am out & about, but mostly, I don't shop, I make ~ this year it will be baskets with handmade soaps, canned goods, cooking mixes, & little things to go along with that.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? No

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? We have a tradition of making a Danish dish called Cheese Blintzes ~ basically crepes with cream cheese, cottage cheese & sour cream blended, topped with fresh fruit & hohmemade fruit syrups. I make them up ahead of time, freeze them, and it makes for a delicious, fast, Christmas Morning Breakfast.

16. Lights on the tree? YES! Sometimes one color theme, sometimes multi-colored.

17. Favorite Christmas song? lots actually, Bing Crosby's "White Christmas", Jethro Tull's "Another Christmas Song", O little Town of Bethlehem, It came upon a Midnight Clear, I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day, There's no place like Home For the Holidays...lol... the list could go on & on.

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? We stay at home for Christmas Eve & day, then travel to family, or they come here.

19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer? Probably, I believe there's a song about it.......;-D

20. Angel on the tree top or a star? It depends on what the kids have made lately, some years it's something pretty, other years...not so much.. more of a styrofoam ball & feather/ pipe cleaner affair... but they CALL it an angel. ;-D

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? hehe this is a yearly debate ~ hubby opened his on Christmas Eve as a child, & I on Christmas Morning, so we compromise ~ one the night before, and the rest on Christmas Morning.


22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? The fact that the commercial stores skip right past Thanksgiving & launch into ~Holiday Cheer~ right after Halloween! Very commercial, very cheezy.

23. Favorite ornament theme or color? Always changing, always including those funny little ones from your kids.....

24. Favorite for Christmas dinner? Left-overs! Christmas Eve is our one big time of the year we actually buy take-out food ~ We set the table up in all the china & silver, then go to a different restauraunt every year ( have to vote on it) & order whatever we want, desserts, the whole 9 yds!, then bring it home, and put it on all the fancy dishes, and enjoy the night off, with easy left-overs the next day. No-one has to cook on Christmas Eve or Day, it's a break for everyone! We just graze. What with the cheese blintzes in the am, and pre-made food all day, it's a day fo fun & relaxation all around. (Let's not talk about what has to go into Thanksgiving, though,lol,,,ugghh)
