I came home from a Christmas party, and much to my surprise, My first trial was a success thus far!! I hope the chick lives!! It is a day early.
Beings that i have 5 eggs left and 3 should hatch on Saturday, when should I take this chick out? How long should they stay in the bater?
Temp is 101, will it hurt them to be so close to the light like in the pic? It isnt making mush noise, and when it does move it is erratic, is that ok?

The Roo is a Black Cochin & Hen is Some Kind of Red from TSC (She lays an egg a day regardless of weather or new hens being added to the flock)

Edited to add: you lil one should be fine up to 36hrs left in the incubator, the others should be starting to hatch any time now.

In the bottom of the last pic it looks like you have a pip on a different egg. Am I wrong?

actually i have pips on 2 of them, but they havent gotten any bigger since 11am this morning.
the one that hatched kept breaking out a little every hour since it started!!

**Edited 30 secs later**
I went to check on my babys and after saying the other 2 hadnt done anything else, one of them had a big pip hole and I would guess should be out by morning!!!
Truely awsome!! My first try on a Free bater I found in the garage from the previous homeowner!
