Christmas in October block Swap

My adorable mug rug from Sandie, all the way from New Zealand, is here. I already have it in use with a hot cup of tea standing on it. Thank you! A long with the mug rug was a native flowers card from New Zealand. It is nice to get a small peek of another continent and country. The mug rug has beautiful quilting, hand stitching and pretty fabric including the back. Thank you for swapping with me Sandie.

So beautiful, and the post card is wonderful too,
Lovely to see all the mug rugs coming home to roost! Think there are just three of us waiting now, keep mum sane all the way down there in New Zealand, cold up north because her sender had put the rug in a safe place and couldn't remember where! It is on its way now and me because I forgot to tell my sender!
I was looking forward to getting my blocks today but Mary forgot to bring them!!!! I will get them on Thursday now so not tooooooo long to wait.
They say good things come to those who wait, but I'd be a spoiled brat, I want it now!! like the girl that was turned purple in Willie Wonka

Mine arrived! Squeal!
Thanks so much Kat its totally beautiful, I just cant figure out photos from my tablet. I love it!
Gorgeous star block in rich colours, makes me happy looking at it.
Thank you for the delicious North american treat of peacan spread.... so spoilt.
Thanks also for the sweet owl majack and the wee hand quilting kit...perfect for my pocket on hospital days
So grateful

Ooo photo might have worked, the colours are much richer than this shows.
A delightful thing to find in my letter box
Yahhhhh
I'm so glad you like it, I have never had so much trouble with binding as I did with this, that is why one corner is a little weird, I just let it go after redoing the binding like 5 times not kidding I worked on it all day, so decided it was going to just have to add some charm, for those of you wondering it really isn't that bad just the point is pointy.

Awesome MR guys. Love the bright coffee cup, and Nell's star in mini

I just love paper piecing, I have a lovely PP quilt I'm going to start on, course I need to post pics of my Lucy Boston blocks I'm working on. But I may have to put it all aside for a bit have a couple of lap quilts I need to get done, and course I need to make some clothes for my new granddog and a stocking for my new DIL

That little mug jar is just too cute. After you are done eating the pecan spread you can use it to have the tiniest of beer in. Hahahahaha! What a beautiful mug rug. Paper piecing is great to give small details. I love the results but find it challenging to do. Great swap katsdar.

I inherited a bag of pre cut Dresden wedges, but they are dated and boring in color and design, totally uninspiring to me. But they are good fabric and perfectly cut and I can't waste them. So this is what I am going to do w/ them. I won't use this b/w fabric b/c it was just a small piece in my stash. I did this mock up to put w/ the precuts so I would remember what I was planning when I get to them. I will use a b/w funky polka dot though. I really like how it makes it less boring, more modern.

I just love the look you have created. not sure which block I like better both are wonderful.

ok Ladies we had a wonderful successful swap so it's now time to start planning another. What block would you like to do? I know we talked about another disappearing patch, and what color scheme? We have not done a tween, that would be cute in a disappearing patch just throwing things out there. Signups would be now for the new swap but not due till lets say March. And maybe we could do another mini swap, just ideas let me hear yours.

@fenrosie thanks for doing the MR swap, that was so fun and such great MR's course we are still waiting to see a couple.

What is a "tween"?

Here are pics of some Christmas ornaments I did for a swap.

LL

Their 2 inch squares finished, I couldn't find my picture of it so I copied it from my recipients post.

I HAVE a tween...I find it horridly hard to figure out things for him....how would we handle the boy/girl thing? My son would kill me if I presented him, a partially girly throw ....lol

I'm ready for the next one ( swap) are we doing mr again? Maybe spring themed? Or Easter? Fenrosie did your mr get there yet?
