YAY YAY YAY!!! FINALLY my Cayuga hen laid her first egg... I've been waiting for months with anticipation... and on Christmas she finally laid her first egg. So happy with my Tobi bird. I have never had duck eggs

Also a question for those with Cayuga, do the eggs stay black/grey? With each egg she lays it gets lighter and lighter, just curious.

Sadly they do get lighter with each egg laid. These are from my Cayuga flock and you can see the various colors (the middle egg is chicken for size comparison). They eventually will be just white. But I understand your excitement. I almost stepped on my first Cayuga egg because it was still pretty dark in their pen and I almost didn't see it. Congratulations.
