Chronic pasty butt

Can you please take a look to see if your chick had the same problem. Mine is also an RIR chick so it might be a birth defect like yours.

Hi, I looked at your pics and it does seem similar. At first mine was clogging her vent, but after awhile it was just underneath it. As the chick got bigger I think it just got strong enough to push the poo out further and the poo got more solid. I thought there's no way I could keep cleaning her vent multiple times a day, but thankfully after close to 10 days it started improving. I put coconut oil and Vaseline under her vent and it helped too. Today she's doing great, no issues and no growth visible under the vent.

Thanks a lot. I am also reaching my limits here, tomorrow they are going to be 2 weeks old. Hopefully it will improve, i would hate to cull the poor thing.

Give it a little time, hopefully it'll get better. I totally understand though, it's frustrating when not seeing improvement. I laugh now at the pics of me washing her butt in a bowl many times a day. But glad I did, because she's a cool chicken with a lot of personality today. Good luck!!!
