Chronic poopy butt

I have this Easter egger that looks like what I’ve read as “rump-less” he is the only one that I hatched out who had poopy butt as a chick and it came back and seems to be a problem with just him. Is poopy butt a common thing in older chicks or chickens? And do you think he is missing a tail? I hate to get rid of him just because he is different but I likely will unless anyone can help me see any good out of having a rump-less poppy butt rooster

Have you taken a good look at his vent, to make sure it is not deformed in some way?
Same goes with checking if he has a tail or not.
Might need to google pics of chicken tail and vent.

I’ve checked the general area of the vent, if it is deformed I don’t know what I’d do. Do you cull a chicken like that? I’m not sure if he has no tail because of this poopy butt problem or he just doesn’t have one. I purchased hatching eggs off Etsy to hatch out a clutch of EE and OE.

You need to actually see the vent, compare with other chickens to see if there anything 'off'. It can be hard to find under the fluff.
This chicken has a bare butt issue, butt(haha) makes it easy to see the vent.

Do you cull a chicken like that?

Poopy butt would not cause the tail to disappear.
Here's a pic of a plucked chicken carcass(sorry best I could find) feel for the tail.

I purchased hatching eggs off Etsy to hatch out a clutch of EE and OE.

He may have had one parent that was a rumpless variety of Araucana.

I don't know about the poop butt, but it looks like that might be the breed he is with the tail issue. In my opinion I don't think that's a problem. I have seen other breeds like that that look similar. Sorry can't help more with the poop issue.

He has no tail nub like this pic and his father was an araucana or olive egger so he probably is rumpless variety. I’ll have to look into if pasty butt is common issue with these kind if there is no visual vent deformation.

Well, that answers one question....rumpless.

How poopy is are his butt feathers?
Not too unusual for butt feathers to get a bit poopy.
Can be good to trim those feathers if it gets too bad or constant.
Can be a diet issue, if fed too many juicy foods, well, goes thru like that.

It’s on the feathers below the vent and he’s on the same diet as everyone else from the start and had this issue from the get go. I’ll try clipping those feathers to clean things up.
If anyone has time for a second question another bird got injured by what I think was either a pecking war or a rat- there was a clear open would to the top joint area of the wound & now the wound closed there’s a scab but the skin around the wound is yellowing and looking dry - the wing is not working and I’m thinking it’s infection spreading below the skin…this chick is only 5 weeks old… do I spend time keeping it or is this one to let this one go? Not sure if it’s a boy or girl yet…
