chukars pecking there beaks off

ok first time i ever messed with chukars before.i bought 50 of them put them in there new home fairly large flight pen.anyway when they where babies they would peck the side of the cage till they pecked there little beaks off all but 6 made it.now i have grown chukars with most of there top beaks screwed all up.(about 85% of them )how in the world do i prevent this in happening again to there babies after i hatch some out.any help or ideas will try anything thinks
