Can they?? No problem! My pullets come in early... it helps that the coop side is completely shaded in the heat. I added a second group of younger pullets and they have no issues navigating!

I have done both. Put in run vs putting in the coop. They just go back and forth, but now they free range. They are happier that way.

We have too many predators for free range, at least this would be something to expand their world. You did so much work on this, thank you for posting it.

This is awesome! Trying to come up with a way to keep my girls safe from hawks. They are in lockdown after close calls and one death. Do they feel like they are still free ranging this way?! Or are they trying to find their way “out”? Would love to share your video but couldn’t figure out how to do it
