I'm Italian on both Mom and Dad's side, yet have never been there. We are mainly from Calabria. Mom's side of the family has an old broken down castle somewhere there and I hear if you can prove bloodline and pay for taxes, they let ya have it. lol.

Wow! The welcomes keep coming!

Thank you again everyone. Chicmom - Rome is my favourite city in the world - I was married there! And Venice is gorgeous too. And Itsy - have you ever heard of a blog called Bleeding Espresso? It's written from Calabria by an American woman who went there eleven years ago to see where her family came from - and she never went home! It's a really nice blog and lots of pics of Calabria.

We are in the middle of harvesting our olives at the moment - back-breaking but so worth it for the gorgeous olive oil at the end of it.

Anyway - thanks again, everyone. I love this place!
