I recently got some Rhode Island Reds and the "seller" (I got them for free) said the were a cross of some sort called Cinnamon Queens. Is anyone familiar with this cross or reference? Thanks!
Yup. The Cinnamon Queen is just a name. Not a breed. It is a hybrid of mostly red with some white showing. If you breed that to a Red, you'll get mostly red chicks. This is one way, but not the only way, to make a production red. Rhode Island Reds, true RIR, are shiny, deep mahogany red, almost dark in appearance.
A Silver Laced Wyandotte and a New Hampshire = Cinnamon Queen. Also known as Golden Comet, Gold Star, and Red Sex Link.
