Citrus Peels

Are citrus peels like grapefriut, oranges, etc... ok to give to chickens?

I can't tell you why, because I don't know, but I've been told many times never to give citrus to chickens. If you look at the top of the feeding time category, at buff hooligan's treat chart "sticky", citrus is listed as a no-no.
