Hi Everybody

,

On Monday June, 9th, the Union Tribune had an article about "Urban chickens" in San Diego. It was a GREAT read because now, I know almost all of our county is allowed to have chickens with the exception of Imperial Beach and Coronado. So pleased to hear because now, I don't have to be all "chickened out" to have chickens. Haha!

Anyways, here is the article:

I hope to be able to help this "movement" so we all San Dieagans can have the pleasure of raising chickens. That would be so nice! : )

That is really neat Tommy. Now some people need to do that where I live!

On the side there, where they mention other cities who have changed laws, it mentions 10 yr old Olivia in South Portland Maine. I do believe she is a member here on BYC, and her mom too.

Giardina and Blake have a Web site, imperialbeachchickens.googlepages.com, to share information and ask for help in overturning the Imperial Beach ordinance. They hope Imperial Beach will allow up to six chickens, arguing that city codes allow up to five dogs per residence.

WOW - 5 dogs is a lot for a city.

I see nothing wrong with everyone being able to have 6 hens in each backyard.
