City vs. County ordinances

UPDATE!

I do not know the woman who this post was written about but I too live in Maywood Park and I have fought for a change in the ordinance since November (alone, mind you, if any other people owned hens in this neighborhood they hid like cowards!). It was very stressful but I attended many city council meetings and listened to angry and uneducated citizens vent their chicken hate. I felt the City Council were fair and co-operative albeit extremely slow in coming to a decision. They asked me to help write a revised ordinance, which I did. I also rallied up all of my neighbors who do not even own chickens but felt that I should have the right to keep them and they attended the final meeting with me and had their say before the city council's final vote. It was 4/5 in favor. We can now keep 4 hens in the City of Maywood Park! Nearly 7 months of stress was very hard on me - I really wish this other owner would have stepped up and helped me fight.
