Are you referring to the Claborn Farms in Waco, TX? If so, I purchased 3 started Dominique pullets from them back in 2014. I'd say they've turned out to be the LEAST healthy/robust birds I've ever had. Little Mildred grew to be very frail, bottom of the pecking order, and was my 'special needs' hen. Her rose comb never fully formed. I would give her treats in a separate dish away from the flock so she could eat in peace. I constantly monitored her. She and Vashti both developed an undiagnosed eye condition very soon after they were able to join my existing flock. Vashti still has the eye goop off and on to this day. It seems to be weather-related somehow. In 2018, my little Mildred very sadly suddenly collapsed one morning while dust bathing and expired . Henrietta, the largest and healthiest of the 3, started growing a spur on her left leg one year ago. She is otherwise doing fine and is actually a really good chicken. Last night I trimmed Henrietta's toenails and she's very cooperative when being held.
This is just my personal experience. I cannot say with absolute certainty that their birds might have been unhealthy from the get-go, but I've purchased started pullets from a different breeder since then, who have had no issues. Go figure.
