Classic Chicken Paintings

Neil these are fanastic.Thank you for posting them. These artist were tops.I wish we could get get someone to get good photos of the the many other poultry paintings still hanging on walls of private collections a few breeders have. They are too beautiful not to be seen by more appreciative eyes.I know I would love to purchase photo reprints of the ones I do not have.

I am with Dan, those are some great paintings and it is a shame there is not an avenue to obtain quality prints of such fine artwork. Did I miss where these paintings are located? All belong to one collector I am assuming.
I have a painting of a trio of WC Black Polish in my garage.....haha....did it in high school as my art project. You can tell they are chickens and thats about it......Art was not my strong suit.

Watt publishing company, former publishers of the Poultry Tribune, where these paintings were reproduced as illustrations... nowadays they publish a number of agriculture trade magazines, PoultryUSA for the commercial poultry industry among them.

You may be able to find some of the original, 9"x11"published illustrations through antique print dealers: look for the artist names, Schilling, Stahmer, Sewell, and/or the magazine title "Poultry Tribune" . The pictures were inserted as supplements, for the subscribers to remove and frame if desired. They do seem to come up on eBay from time to time.
