Classical / Baroque music fans!

This is a piece of contemporary classical from Krzysztof Penderecki. The word "Threnody" means a lamentation for the dead. It's very unusual, but incredibly powerful.

 
CC, how wide do you want to go with this? Like "Keep it strictly classical composers" Or "This person isn't necessarily a classical composer, but this piece is clearly classical"?

I ask, for reasons that may or may not have something to do with pipe organs and sailing ships.
