Well, if this doesn't feel like the first day at a new school.. 
Hi, ya'll!! I'm Alania, I live in Texas. I am relatively new to chickens. I grew up having bantams and guineas, but we never fooled with them at all. I raised some broilers for FFA in high school, and before my current crew we had six red sex links that we raised up years ago. Those ladies were eventually given to a good friend and we went a few years chicken-less. We have recently jumped back in and I currently have twelve barred rock pullets and one cockerel. A bakers dozen! [=
Aside from my love of spotted chickens my hobbies include riding/training horses, gardening, and woodworking. I do a lot of rescue work, mainly for APBT (American Pit Bull Terrier) and bully breeds. We have a whole "funny farm" around here.. cats, dogs, horses, chickens, rabbits.. still trying to convince my husband we need a alpaca or a llama.
The husband and I have three beautiful children who drive us absolutely insane.. in a good way, of course! We are battling our way through teen years (13) and feeling like we know something with the elementary kiddos (7 & 6.)
And... that's pretty much me in a nutshell.
