Cleaned out shavings.....now what?

Had a productive day, I cleaned out my little chicken hutch to prepare it for the chicks I have coming from MPC in 2 weeks. So I took the floor out and all the poop and shvaings and am letting it get rained on now nad have the top and doors open. I feel like it needs to be vaccuumed because of the dust lol.....big question...

Now what do I do???

The 2 RIRs I had in there for the winter are in my new coop and they were my first and only chicks so I never had to prepare for new babies. What do I disinfect with?

I need to say my girls never have had mites or any sickness at all.

Do you have any Oxine? I like to spray my coop and brooder down with it when I switch birds out. It also would not hurt to get the shop vac out and vacuum it out.

Nope never heard of it and I didnt see anything like that at the fed store today. Didnt think to ask when I was there either....Where can I get it??

I've heard that diluted bleach is a good idea as well...

I'm going to have to do this too, so I better listen up!

thanks I found that website... How much do you use? It is for the chicken hutch very small space and do I need the liquid acid too??

Also does Wynette sell small quanities? I didnt see a link to a site on her profile

My girls had capillaria worms, so I needed to clean out everything well. My vet put them on fenbendazole and suggested a bleach dilution to spray the coop down.

We use the deep litter method with de on a linoleum coop floor. After shoveling the place out, there was still de, food dust, feather dust, dusty dust everywhere.

I did end up with the shopvac in the coop. I have to admit, I could see myself in there vacuuming and was roflmao--but at least it was a clean floor!

I've heard of Oxine but couldn't find it, so used a 10:1 bleach dilution instead.

Everything seemed to go well except the girls hated being locked out while the bleach dried.

Thanks for the suggestion of bleach, I have a cedar coop and gray painted floor, and the mini coop is plywood staind red, dumb question but will the bleach hurt the wood?
