I purchased a used GQF incubator and a incubator turned into a hatcher. The wafer thermostats are filled with gunk. Do I need to clean them or should they just be replaced? If they can be cleaned - what is the best way to do it?

Yes, you can clean it. I would take it apart and wipe the little electrical switch off with a damp soapy rag and then dry it off. The wafers can be washed more thoroughly if need be. Just try not to get water inside the switch. Let everything dry completely before connecting to power.

Yeah, you can get computer keyboard cleaner. It is an aerosol can of compressed air, and I'm sure it would blow all the gunk out between the two wafers.
