Cleaning cage while button hen is sitting on eggs

    My two indoor cages are getting really messy-but my two hens are setting on eggs, do you clean the cage or not.

    They very rarely set and it only takes 14 days for them to hatch.I would wait until they hatch so you don't interrupt her setting and she will hopefully continue to set in the years to come.

    If your birds are used to you reaching into the cages then go ahead she wont budge just don't get too close to the nest. Mine was fine unless I got too close then she would cuss/chirp at me. And it takes 16 days IF the hen is sitting tightly. Good luck.

    I would wait.

    After the hatch you can transfer them (all birds)

    I wouldnt risk making her leave the eggs.
