I just bought eggs and an incubator and tried to hatch some. I did my homework and had a semi-successful hatch but I had one major issue. Not enough humidity at hatching. I had a few pips that died, and now I have two chicks who had a tiny bit of blood on what I think is their navel. So I was checking the chicks for pasting up and I see the dried blood stuck there. Is the navel the same spot where they go to the bathroom. Do I pick off the blood, I'm worried It will make them bleed, but I'm also worried If i don't get it off they can't go to the bathroom. I'm stuggling to find any information on this on line, can anyone help me out?
